Transit Applications

This new concept of Group Passenger Vehicle UV-C/GUV transit sterilization takes public and other passenger vehicle cleansing to the next level. This system kills dangerous microorganisms (including COVID-19) without the use of any hazardous chemicals, and is immediately safe as soon as the sterilization process is completed, leaving no residuals as with the use of chemicals and Ozone. To make the Invictus system even safer, the control module comes equipped with a ‘Safety Shut-Off’ that will instantaneously ‘kill’ the system as soon as any occupancy is detected to prevent accidental exposure with the UV-C. If anyone enters the area without knowledge of the system, the UV-C/GUV will instantly shut down.

There are two options offered for the safety shut-off ‘restart’ of the sterilization system. Once the shut-off is triggered, the customer can choose an auto restart function. If chosen, after no occupancy is detected for a given timespan, the system restarts. For even more safety there is the option of a manual restart. To minimize maintenance and to help the system’s longevity, the control module utilizes a built in timer to prevent running the system longer than required for optimizing the system lifespan.

With the incorporated safety protocol, and the built-in sanitizing timer, the control offers both safety and longevity in a very compact design. The Invictus Transit Sterilization System is one of, if not the most comprehensive sterilizer on the market today.

Furthermore, to make the Invictus system the most innovative UV-C/GUV sterilization system available, providing the highest level of disinfection power  on the market today, a low-mount UV-C/GUV Transit Sterilization system can be installed below the seats to disinfect and neutralize any mold, mildew, virus, bacteria and germs from the floor level upward for the most complete UV-C/GUV microorganism decontamination system that can be purchased.

For example: This system, when installed into a standard 51+ foot subway car will unleash a very impressive 300 to 500 watts of UV-C for the standard system, and an tremendous 600 watts, to a staggering 1000 watts of UV-C power for the dual system, utilizing 265-270nm of highly effective germicidal UV-C providing strong virus killing power to sanitize the air and all surface areas within the car.

Best yet, this system is future upgradeable. In case Far UV-C becomes a proven safe and effective method of sterilization, the system can be upgraded to accept this new method. And there’s more! with the optional Rapid Air Purifier & Light. This system provides 90.03%–99.99% virus killrate in only 20 minutes while passengers are using the vehicle.

The inverse square law applies to germicidal ultraviolet as it does to light: the killing power decreases as the distance from the lamps increases. The average bacterium will be killed in ten seconds at a distance of six inches from the lamp in an American Ultraviolet Germicidal Fixture.

Coverage

This is determined by the wattage of the lamp. Example: A 15-watt lamp will cover approximately 100 square feet; a 30-watt lamp will cover approximately 200 square feet.

The exposure of germicidal ultraviolet is the product of time and intensity. High intensities for a short period and low intensities for a long period are fundamentally equal in lethal action on bacteria.
